The new gift guide for the Biltmore Estate Wine Company dropped last week. I’ve been collaborating with the BEWC for several years, the last few years I’ve been creating holiday content for their gift guide. They are an amazing client because they really let me drive everything. We start production with a call and a meeting so I can really dig in and learn what images serve them best and how I can generate new content for them. Last November we were able to make use of several locations on property (because nobody does Christmas better than the Biltmore Estate!) to create beautiful stories featuring the wine of the BEWC. We captured this cover shot at the end of a long but fun day at the fireplace in the Gardener’s Cottage. My prop stylist had the perfect accessories and pieces to reimagine this space. Cheers to the holidays!
In July I shot a story for Good Grit Magazine about Chuck McSpadden, the owner of Apple Valley Orchards in Cleveland, TN. It was the height of summer and incredibly HOT and steamy as summers are in the south, but I was dreaming of a crisp, cool, fall day like today while I was there. My great grandfather was a farmer and rancher so I immediately connected with Chuck. I enjoyed riding around the property in his pick up truck and learning about all the apples they grow and what harvest time looks like for them. I was surprised to learn that they still pick all the apples by hand, using good old fashioned ladders. I need to get back down there soon for an apple hand pie! He said they make them the old fashioned way. Thanks for a great assignment, Good Grit Magazine! Check out the story in their September/October issue.Read More
