March issue of Travel + Leisure

Check out page 43 of the March issue of Travel + Leisure to see our pics of Town House in Chilhowee, Virginia. We had the pleasure of photographing the Townhouse team back in December. It's really worth the trip! The food is amazing and the space and good old fashioned southern hospitality of the staff will have you feeling right at home.

February issue of OUR STATE

We have a lovely feature in the February issue of Our State Magazine on Clayspace in Asheville, North Carolina. You should definitely check out the work of Josh Copus, an amazing artist. His co-op space houses great art pieces. Stop by and then head down the road for ribs at 12 Bones.

Taste of the South Gala Dinner -- I'm still full!

The culmination of all the celebrating and fellowship at Blackberry Farm for the SFA Taste of the South event is a gala dinner and fundraiser for the SFA, which this year raised $150,000! All for the very important work the SFA does. See more here: http://www.southernfoodways.com/events/taste_of_south/index.html. The chefs of Blackberry Farm (Chef Joseph Lenn, Chef Adam Cooke and Chef Josh Feathers, and Chef Sarah Steffan) hosted guest chefs: Chef John Shields and Chef Karen Urie Shields of Townhouse (http://www.townhouseva.com/), Chef Ashley Christensen of Poole's Diner (http://www.poolesdowntowndiner.com/), Chef Joe Truex of Repast (http://www.repastrestaurant.com/), and Chef Edward Lee of 610 Magnolia (http://www.610magnolia.com/). The courses were thoughtfully paired with the amazing wines of Larry Turley (http://www.turleywinecellars.com/). It was an amazing evening that celebrated all things southern and the induction of Julian Van Winkle (http://pappyvanwinkle.com/) into the fellowship. The south is where it's at!

The Amazing Natalie Chanin

We had the opportunity to meet the amazing Natalie Chanin last week at the Taste of the South Event at Blackberry Farm. Natalie made a generous and beautiful donation to the live auction -- one of her quilts. She bridges the old and the new in the work she does. Please see more about her and her amazing work here: http://alabamachanin.com/
