Congrats Chef David Chang!
Last week we had the pleasure of photographing Chef David Chang of Momofuku in NYC and this weekend, he was named Best Chef, NYC at the James Beard Foundation Awards. Wow! Congrats, Chef Chang. It was a pleasure to meet you and your staff and photograph you as you prepared an amazing meal at Blackberry Farm as part of the East Meets West cooking school featuring wines from Favia Vineyards. As soon as we arrived, the chefs INSISTED we eat a steamed pork bun so of course we did! It was pure pork deliciousness, everything we had heard it would be. We sampled some other things, too. Chef Chang is the real deal: great Chef, leader, food enthusiast and generous person. After he finished service, he was in the back making a pot of his famous kimchee stew for the cooks! We wish you continued success, Chef Chang.
RT Lodge Food
Yesterday we photographed the food at RT Lodge here in Maryville, TN. RT Lodge is an amazing space that has been used as a corporate retreat and training facility for the folks at Ruby Tuesday for the past decade or so. Located on the park like grounds of Maryville College, its so nestled in the woods you feel miles and miles and miles away from any worries or cares. With big fluffy feather beds and an amazing Chef, sign us up! We photographed a few of Chef Amber's creations yesterday, along with some lifestyle images for upcoming marketing efforts. The Lodge will open to the public in the near future and they asked us to help create an image library to help communicate who they are. They are truly hospitable and outstanding in every way. Chef Amber made special plates for the crew (they were a hit -- especially the strawberry rhubarb pie) and Gary Doyle, the manager even carried our HEAVY camera bags up the stairs to our staging area. And Amanda, graphic designer extraordinaire had lots of great ideas and was just fun to be around for the day. Thanks, folks. We look forward to working together again soon. And we wish you well as you open your doors to the public. Based on our experience, you'll be a smash hit!
