Magazines, magazines, magazines!

Hey!  The ad we shot for LeCreuset is on page 183 of the September issue of FOOD + WINE.  We also have 2 pictures (one a full page!) in the September issue of SOUTHERN ACCENTS (page 176 and 177)...And we have pictures in the September TRADITIONAL HOME on Charelston Cooks!  Woo-hoo!  Run to your local newstand and check it out...

Wok Hay Menu

We're on day 2 of a 3 day shoot with Wok Hay, a new asian concept restaurant.  We are photographing items for a new food and drink menu.  It's been a lot of fun so far!  Catherine OBrion is art directing the shoot, accompanied by Amanda Davis.  They have a terrific eye for detail and know just what tweaks to make to give the images zip in the layout.  Pat Peterson from the culinary department is making sure we represent the food accurately and Tami Hardeman of Atlanta is our food stylist, making sure the food looks delicious!  Thanks to all who are helping on this shoot, especially the folks on the b+t team, Nat and Zane, we couldn't do it without you.  Stay tuned for images from day 3!

Hickory Construction

We shot for another one of our favorite clients in August, Hickory Construction.  They are amazing!  They do commercial and residential projects.  This month we photographed a couple of their commercial projects: a Greenhouse at the University of Tennessee (seen at left -- that's the actual sky, this is God's country after all!) and Dr. Hicks Orthodontist Office in West Knoxville.  Both spaces are amazing.  The way Hickory uses unique and thoughtful materials to create spaces that are beautiful and functional is awesome.  We love photographing their creations.  Thanks!

Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles: Rachel Cardina, Art Director

The two features we shot in Atlanta for Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles were art directed by the lovely and talented Rachel Cardina.  We really enjoyed working with her!  She was clear in her vision and provided good direction so we arrived at beautiful shots that tell the story of the space and work in the layout.  She has great style and vision.  And focus!  We look forward to working together again soon.  Thanks for everything, Rachel.

Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles: Gilstrap Edwards

Thursday August 14th we photographed the poolhouse of an Atlantan designed by Gretchen Edwards of Gilstrap Edwards (www.gilstrapedwards.com) for an upcoming feature in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles.  Gretchen and her assistant, Mary Allison were terrific -- so easy to work with.  We had a great time working with them.  Rachel Cardina again did the art direction -- she's pretty awesome, too.  We had a great day and look forward to seeing the images in the magazine soon.

Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles: Todd Bienz

Wednesday August 13th we photographed a condo designed by Todd Bienz (www.toddbienz.com) in Atlanta.  It will appear in an upcoming issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles.  Todd, his assistant Clint, and Rachel Cardina from the magazine did a fabulous job styling the space and making it camera ready.  Thanks!  We had a wonderful time and hope to work with AHL and Todd again soon!

Ferebee/Lane and LeCreuset

August 9th through 11th found us in Greenville, South Carolina with our friends from Ferebee/Lane working on a product catalog for LeCreuset.  It was a fast a furious couple of days, 2 locations, lots of product and some talent, too!  We had fun and enjoyed meeting all the folks from F/L.  We've been working with Matt and Josh (Ferebee and Lane) for a couple of years through the work we do for Blackberry Farm and HFG.  We like them so much, we've hired them for ads and postcard campaigns we've done for b+t.  They are terrifically creative and hospitable and we love shooting with them.  We're always a little sad when the shoot is over and we have to say goodbye!  Thanks, fella's -- see ya next time!  Can't wait to see what you do with the images.  We love LeCreuset so much, we have to pinch ourselves that we are shooting for them.  For our pre-game (pre-shoot ritual) we always cook a dish in one of our LeCreuset pans.  This time it was seared scallops in our skillet -- they were delicious.  LeCreuset is an elegant and highly functional product.  We love it and appreciate the opportunity to work for them.

Chef David Myers of Sona in LA

Last night we photographed Chef David Myers of LA.  His food was beautiful: fresh, aromatic, and artful but not too fussy.  We enjoyed the opportunity to meet and photograph him in action.  He was a thoughtful leader, carefully commanding the team to excellence.  We hope to check out one of his restaurants the next time we are in LA!  Safe travels home, Chef.  Thanks again.
