Spring Garden

Last night we photographed the garden and garden dinner at Blackberry Farm. We've been photographing the gardens for the last 3 years and this is the most amazing spring we've ever seen. Last night was amazing. Perfectly clear skies, cool temps, lush crops. The fireflies even made an appearance. We look forward to documenting the entire season. Thanks to our gracious host, Sam. And to the chefs that prepared a delicious meal and our new friend, Ryan Hill of Hill Family Vineyards. The wine was delicious! A perfect way to spend a Tuesday night!

Chef Series

A project 3 years in the making, our chef series finally made it's debut last week on the walls of the Barn of Blackberry Farm. We have been photographing visiting Chefs to Blackberry Farm's food and wine program the past 3 years. These are the great ones -- many James Beard nominees and winners, Food + Wine top chefs and all. And now their autographed pictures hang on the wall. It's an ongoing project and we envision full walls years from now. We appreciate the people we've met and the food we've sampled! Chefs are passionate and creative people. And the best ones inspire and lead their teams to achieve amazing things. Thanks to Blackberry for amazing access and prime wall space.

Dr. Curtiss

We've done some photographs for Dr. Curtiss recently -- the BEST dentist in Maryville! He and his staff are so great. Very courteous and professional. They do great work. We were so pleased when they called to ask if we could update the photography on their website. Thanks!

They got married under a tree

This past weekend we photographed the wedding of Sarah and Andy. The wedding took place at Sarah's family ranch -- the ceremony under an old tree, the reception in a magically transformed horse arena. It was so lovely! Sarah wore her mother's wedding gown and cowboy boots. Andy wore a suit by Billy Reid. We really love these folks and wish them every happiness!

North Carolina

We spent Sunday and Monday in North Carolina shooting a couple of stories for OUR STATE magazine. Sunday was spent at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville photographing the garden gates (amazing sculptures, really) and Monday was spent in the fabulous Biltmore gardens capturing their Festival of Flowers. The amazing LeeAnn Donnelly was our gracious hostess at Biltmore. She was so patient and kind! We were up early and stayed late and had the best time together. We look forward to seeing the images in an upcoming issue of OUR STATE Magazine. Thanks to Deanne O'Connor for assigning these stories to us. There is nothing better than spending a couple of days in such amazing gardens and taking pictures -- we love what we do!

sarah + andy

We're photographing their wedding on Saturday. Last Saturday they stopped by the studio for some fun pics in their James Beard outfits. That's what we named them -- you see, Andy was nominated for a James Beard award last week, he's a bit of a big deal sommelier! And they attended all dressed up in Billy Reid. We love it. Can't wait to share the wedding images with you!
